 Website Tips

Here are a few things members can do to take full advantage of the new website. The first thing is Sign In. Emails were sent from on October 24 and on November 17 with your username and temporary password. Please go to and sign in. You will then be able to change the password.

Note that you have to sign in before registering for a meeting so that the system recognizes you as a member.

If you need help or have questions, please email us at

Job Postings

Want a cost effective, easy to use way to reach top professionals in the gift planning field? Go to the Career Center on our website for all the information you need to get started. You just might find what/who you are looking for.

Parking Information

Two parking options are available. Please note that 200 Stuart Street Garage fills up fast and PGGNE cannot guarantee a parking space in either garage due to increased car/guest volume.

200 Stuart Street Garage: Located within the Revere Hotel, PGGNE meeting attendees may self park for a validated rate $17. Be sure to pick up your parking validation ticket from the PGGNE registration desk. Rates are not applicable for overnight guests. If you see a sign stating that the parking garage is full, please inform the hotel attendant that you are participating in the PGGNE meeting. They will often be able to direct you to an open space.

Motor Mart Garage: Located at 201 Stuart Street, across from the Revere Hotel. Discounted rates are not available at this garage. The current rate schedule can be found here

Snow Policy

Hopefully we can put this policy back on the shelf until next year - although it is New England….

Please remember that PGGNE meetings may be cancelled if the mayor or governor has declared a state of emergency in Boston. If the meeting is cancelled an alert will be posted on the website and the PGGNE office will record a voice mail message (at 781-647-4343) by 8:00 AM on the day of the meeting.

From the President

Dear PGGNE Members and Friends,

I was asked recently what my legacy will be as PGGNE President. I’ve thought a lot about this since my predecessor Charlie Gordy left a valuable legacy by spearheading the new website. Other clear legacies, such as founding the Fundamentals program, also spring quickly to mind. But from the outset, my goals have been simple: to maintain the incredible standard of quality programing that PGGNE is known for with fiscal responsibility and responsiveness to the membership. These are modest goals, and ones that cannot be achieved alone but only with a hardworking, innovative and conscientious Board. I believe that we have attained our goals and I could not be prouder of the time I have spent on the PGGNE Board. I will miss it next year.

Perhaps part of my legacy will be guiding us through the snowiest winter on record since recording began in 1872. Yes, with over 108 inches we had an all-time record snowfall for the City of Boston and not one PGGNE meeting was cancelled. Now that is quite a feat!

Don’t forget to register each month if you plan to attend the meeting. Part of the smooth operation of a monthly meeting is knowing how many people plan to be there. Of course, there will always be slight variations on what we expect, but huge variations can put us in a difficult situation, such as happened last month when two members, who had registered, came a little late and we did not have a seat for them at lunch. The Revere staff grabbed chairs from the lobby and we made room, but we hate to be unprepared. Please do register so we know you are coming!

It is time now to register for the April meeting. You will want to be there for the annual “Planned Giving Quiz” by PG expert Jonathan Tidd. He will bring, as always, the most complex and fascinating real life scenarios for us to try and untangle. If you can’t untangle them, you will be in the same boat with the rest of us, but Jonathan won’t leave us hanging too long, and the answers are worth the wait. We are also fortunate to have Nadia Yassa from Emerson College presenting the basics session on Charitable Lead Trusts. Alternatively, the Nuts and Bolts session will be a panel discussion with senior professionals including Ana Alvarado from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University; Kathleen Duffy from Brigham & Women's Hospital; Peter Kimball from Harvard University; and Rick Wells from The Nature Conservancy. It will be another fulfilling day of networking, learning and fun.

I am also excited to say that registration is also open for the May 5th Fundamentals Course and May 6th All-Day Conference. Please share these events with your colleagues, they are both wonderful educational opportunities! We hope to see you there!

Did You Miss Last Month's Meeting?

The March meeting sessions started with our regularly scheduled “meet and greet” networking opportunity for all members. Allison Treitler shared her knowledge of estate administration at the Basics session, while Bob Barr and Geoff Mason educated the Nuts & Bolts attendees on estate settlement and how your organization can optimize its yield . The luncheon attendees doubly blessed with "Tales from the Trench" presented by Christine Martignetti and Rebecca Scott.
