A Note from the President - February 2017

Happy 2017!

PGGNE welcomed 2017 with two successful webinars: Decisions, Decisions: Unitrust or Gift Annuity? and Lessons Learned from Planned Giving Audits. Many thanks to Timothy Prosser and Edie Matulka. If you missed these webinars, you can still get the recordings by contacting PGGNE.

As the late, great Marvin Gaye once crooned: “Ain’t nothing like the real thing baby!” We resume in person monthly meetings on Friday, March 10th at the Wyndham Beacon Hill Hotel. Attorney Claudine Donikian, President and CEO of Pentera, Inc. will be discussing new insights from data on planned gifts.

Our all-day conference will be Friday, April 28th at the Revere Hotel. Many thanks to our corporate sponsors for making this very special annual conference possible. Congratulations to our conference scholarship recipient, Suzanne Shaheen of Homes for Our Troops!

The 2016-2017 PGGNE Season will conclude with our Annual Meeting on Wednesday, May 17th, and bring your party hats because we will be celebrating PGGNE’s 40th Birthday!

Membership Enrollment

Have you been attending this season as a guest, but still uncertain if a full time membership is right for you? It’s not too late to “kick the tires” and explore the benefits of membership. Take a test drive and sign up at the March meeting. We’d love to have you!

Become a Mentor/Mentee

Whether you’re new to the field, hoping to advance to the next level, or thinking “I wish I knew that when I was starting out,” the mentor/mentee experience is both enjoyable and constructive. Kristina Lentz, Pine Street Inn’s Director of Capital & Leadership Giving, had this to say of her mentee experience: “Beyond the great programming sessions at PGGNE, I had a mentor whom I could call when we received some difficult gift questions which provided me with a great sense of security and peace of mind.” Explore how the mentoring program can benefit you.
