Course Description
Looking for an introductory session that covers the basics of planned giving? Or possibly a refresher on the various planned giving strategies available and how to talk about them with donors? Then PGGNE's Fundamentals program is for you! The course offers
an emphasis on learning the concepts in order to develop a conversational understanding of the technical topics so that you can speak with confidence to donors and prospects. If you are new to planned giving, need a refresher, or are a development
generalist, this course will give you an overview of gift planning and the tools you need to make the most of it. All attendees will receive a copy of Craig Wruck's book Planned Giving in a Nutshell.

Summary and Objectives:
- Participants will receive an overview of charitable gift planning basics, including the tax aspects of outright contributions and planned giving techniques
- Emphasis will be on conceptual understanding and the ability to explain concepts to prospective donors in a clear and convincing way
- Four major topic areas will be covered: 1) Tax Fundamentals, 2) Assets Used for Charitable Contributions, 3) Basic Planned Giving Methods, and 4) Advanced Planned Giving Methods

Craig Wruck is a senior advisor at PG Calc. His experience in charitable giving spans more than 40 years in both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. He has served at the University of Minnesota, Humboldt State University, Minnesota State
University, and the Saint Paul Community Foundation. In addition, he has worked for U.S. Trust Company, US Bank, and Kaspick & Company.
Craig received the David M. Donaldson Distinguished Service Award from PGGNE in 1999. He past president of the National Committee on Planned Giving (now the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners) and has served as a member
of its board of directors and as chair of its government relations committee. Craig is the author of Planned Giving in a Nutshell, a practical guide to planned giving for development generalists. He earned his MBA from the University of
St. Thomas and his bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Utah. |

Registration Policy:
Registrations must be received by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. All payments are due prior to attending the event and required to reserve your seat.
