11:00a.m. – Noon Nuts and Bolts Program: "Life Insurance and Charitable Giving- Uses, Abuses, Peanuts and Shells" Charlie Ratner, Ernst and Young Mr. Ratner will discuss current trends in the use of life insurance as it relates to charitable gift planning. His talk will include charitable premium financing programs, life insurance product design and suggestions for institutional policy acceptance guidelines. Mr. Ratner is the National Director of Personal Insurance Counseling for Ernst & Young LLP. Since joining the firm in 1989, he has been providing life insurance consulting services to corporations, financial institutions, charitable institutions and individuals as well as estate and business succession planning services to closely held companies. He is an attorney, a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). He is Vice Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board of Trusts & Estates magazine and Chair of its Insurance Committee.
